Today's Top Ten

Rules to Dining in America
10. Tip. Tip at least 15%. 20% is great, but anything less than 15% is a slap in the face.
09. Don't wave your arm at your server from across the restaurant. That's rude. We are constantly on the move. Your server will walk by you for you to stop him or her. I doubt that whatever it is you need is that urgent.
08. If you don't speak English, have someone with you who does.
07. If you don't speak English and have no one with you who does, don't get mad at me for not speaking whatever language it is you do speak.
06. If you don't speak English and have no one with you who does, don't be rude to me. I'm doing you a service. And I have access to your food and drink.
05. Tip at least 15%. If you don't know this rule, do some research before you leave your country.
04. If you are American and know the tipping rules and yet still only tip $5 regardless of your check, don't dine at my restaurant. Go to McDonald's where $5 can get you a lot more.
03. Unless otherwise specified, don't seat yourself. We have a system and you mess it up when you just sit wherever you want.
02. Please don't ask me where the restrooms are when my arms are full of food. I'm en route to a table. And a bucket of shellfish is heavy and hot.
01. TIP YO SERVER! Unless you're in California, servers are making much less than minimum wage and your tips are how we make our money. If you can't afford to tip, just don't come in.

St. Patty's Day, Savannah!

I had the most wonderful time in Savannah this year for St. Patrick's Day!

It started out with a 2 hour delay leaving New York on my Delta flight, causing me to almost miss my connecting flight to Jacksonville- but it was all up hill from there!

My friend Marc picked me up from the airport and took me to my favorite fast food place. It was delicious!

Then we were on our way to my former work's awesome St. Patrick's party! Food, drink, music, karaoke, my best friend from San Diego, former co-workers- you really can't ask for anything more!

And I got to meet my best friend's new fella!
I approve!

The office had the coolest toilet seat cover ever!

The next morning, Jess made us get up super early to make it down to the parade.
Don't I look tired?

Then down to the parade route to drink the traditional 9:18am first St. Patty's beer!

Kisses to thank our service men!

Then it was down to River Street for more St. Patrick's fun!

And we couldn't go down to the river without getting our faces painted by our favorite face painters!

More great food, birthday celebrations, and sweet tea!

A wonderful weekend!

Let's do it again next year!!

The many stylings of Kitty Witty!

While my friend was away for a couple weeks, we had the great pleasure of cat sitting for her crazy cat, whom we affectionately call "Kitty Witty," "Cat," "Professor Cuteness," and the list goes on. It's impossible not to take a million pictures of cats as they're just living their lives, doing what they do. For your sake, I limited my photo gallery to just a few shots :-)

Apparently, my one leg is the place to be!

I can't blame her for this one, I love those blankets!

Whatever makes you happy!

It's homeless kitty!

Awww!

"Singing in the rain! Just singing in the rain!"

This one is my favorite!

If she ever comes back to visit, I'm sure there will be Part 2 of Kitty Witty cuteness!

This week's project.

As some of you may or may not know, I'm a backstage member of The Blue Hill Troupe. This is a theatre group that does Gilbert and Sullivan shows and raises money for a different charity each year. Check us out, we're pretty cool!

As a backstage member, I get to help build the set for the upcoming shows, which means I get to use POWERTOOLS! haha and yesterday I learned how to use a jigsaw!

This is what I cut out!

I'm still learning and accidents happen...I cut off the donkey's tail!

Ooops!

But when the elephant and donkey come down at the end of the show, I can say, "I jigsawed that!"
